I love this Kickin Chicken location because they have great service, cold beer, good food, plenty of televisions to watch the games on, and the fact is it is only a quarter of a mile from my house for easy access. I've never had bad service at this location of Kickin Chicken. I normally sit at the bar where the bartenders Jenny, Sara, and Ellen have always been great at taking care of my food and drink needs. They are the ones responsible for me coming back time and time again. The food here is solid bar food. It ain't nothing fancy, and it ain't suppose to be. You come in to grab a few brews with some wings, a sandwich, or burger to watch the games on TV. Overall, this location gets 5 stars from me for what it is and I like what it is. I always feel at home when I'm at the Chicken.

I have gone to this restaurant A LOT because it is just around the corner from my house. Today, I went on my lunch break and the service was horrible. Waited over an hour before leaving without my lunch. Seriously, how long does it take to fry up 6 pieces of chicken tenders and 2 orders of French Fries. Waiter must have been catching hell from other customers because he would not even acknowledge our table other than to mutter once as he walked by that the food should be out soon. Very disappointed in today's experience. It will be a very long time before I step foot in there again.

I really like this location, never too crowded, wait staff is always prompt and friendly. I've had the tenders basket, wings, salads - everything is great. I guess my favorite is the Buffalo Chicken salad - huge portion - great flavors. Have it with an ice clod Yuengling draft and you have the perfect lunch!!

Went to kickin chicken two weeks ago. Had the signature dish with fries and was great. Not over fried and a pretty solid meal for the price around 10 dollars. Ask about the rewards card that they offer! I will definitely return as this is near my home.

The bar was hopping around 5pm on a Monday! That's cool. Was unimpressed with the southwestern flatbread. It was too cheesy. It felt a little heavy and the chicken on the thing looked tired. The dill mayo sauce that come with the kickin chicken sandwich is great though. A little over priced for what it is.

Horribly slack service and cleanliness. The waitress did not display knowledge of the menu whatsoever. She came by the table twice in 20 minutes, once to greet us and ten minutes later to drop our drinks, for which she did not provide straws. We felt extraordinarily neglected and left promptly.

I eat at Kickin' Chicken on Folly Road at least once a week. The food is almost always prepared to perfection. Unfortunately, my order is only correct about half of the time. It's almost never anything big (once I got grilled instead of fried chicken) but little things like wrong side or wrong sauce. Despite the less than stellar order accuracy, the quality and deliciousness of the food more than makes up for the accuracy.

This used to be my favorite restaurant on James Island for the atmosphere and great food. We were there every Tuesday for Two for $10. Then it changed to two for $12 but I'm pretty upset it is now Two for $15. The price has gone up and the quality has gone WAY down. We ordered to-go this weekend and I could hardly eat my fried chicken sandwich because it was so over-cooked and hard. Had we been in the restaurant, I would have sent it back immediately. Very disappointing.

Ordered our food 45 minutes ago... Still waiting! It's not even busy! Finally got food after 50 minutes. The chicken was really good, but not worth the wait.

Good food, dim lighting and NO SMOKING, can't beat that, happy hour is at 4pm food is good drinks are cold can't ask for much more. Maybe more outdoor seating but I can't complain. Good location as well

Best chicken place ever. I eat here so much especially because they're open late, it's the best place to grab a midnight bite and it's so cheap.

wonderful meal! wife had a hamburger and salad i had the tenders and fries. delicious! our server, christopher, was great and personable. the place was clean and well kept. we will be back!

Ordering by phone is always such a drag because I get bad reception from my house. grrr! Anyway, the employees taking the orders are always friendly and you can tell they are smiling behind the phone. The delivery drivers are always on time and friendly. The chicken ranks up there as one of the best, along w/ Bdubs and WingStop. I think their delivery service gives them a leg-up on sales (with us at least) because after a long day some people would just rather relax at home than drive out to the restaurant. I deducted one star because I think the prices could be a bit cheaper. Thank goodness for your Loyalty Program, I get to save some $$$.

I just had the greatest experience at the Kickin Chicken on james island. Jenny, my bartender was wonderful, knowledgeable, and I ended up having everything she suggested!! DELICIOUS. The manager, Anthony, checked on me and asked how my experience was and really made me feel at home!! LOVED IT!!

I have tried so many things here and all of them were delicious. My most favorite thing on the menu is the Fried Pickles! Whoever invented those was a genius! The Kickin' Chicken sandwich is also a good choice. The special sauce makes it even better. It is a dipping sauce. Kinda like thousand island. I have tried the burgers and wings. And they are also good options. Just usually go back to my old stand by - pickles and kickin chicken sandwich. Just can't beat good chicken. Good atmosphere. Has TV's and bar like atmosphere. Good service.

This place has a great atmosphere and everyone is very friendly . I had to get the Kicken Chicken sandwich w/fries. The chicken was tender & juicy (not spicy as the name may imply) . It was seated on a hogie roll topped with provolone cheese and bacon pieces. The included dipping sauce was the bomb. I should have bought a bottle to take home (if they sell them) my wife got the house salad w/chicken. She said everything was fresh and delicious.

My daughter goes to school not far from here so we've stopped here several times for some grub before heading home. The service has always been pretty solid and the food has always solid as well. We've had some minor misses in both areas but nothing exceedingly horrible. One of those times I wish half stars were an option! Definitely a solid 3.5 stars and we won't hesitate to eat here again. I don't expect any sort of stellar food, but we have yet to leave there unhappy so I'd recommend.

A great option for watching the game, drinking some beer, having a quiet date night or taking the family. One of the best things about Kickin Chicken is the eclectic crowd. The menu is great, and the management does a pretty good job of changing up the specials and items frequently. It's a decent amount of food for the money. With a couple of drinks, two people can eat for around $25. TVs are everywhere, so there's always something to watch, if you're into sports and the like. Weekly specials are awesome (trivia night, $3 drinks night, 2 entrees for $12 night). Down Sides: - The popularity of the place on James Island makes the wait time for your food suffer a bit--the TVs help you pass the time. - If you ever order carry out, they put the food in styrofoam containers and everything gets mushy. Best to eat in. Menu Highlights: - Kickin Chicken Salad - Santa Fe wrap - Flatbreads - Wings!

For underwhelming bar food... come here. The space is in a strip mall and looks like a typical american-fare bar/restaurant in a strip mall. Indistinguishable from the myriad other bars in strip malls across the country. As some others have said, it really seems like the quality has gone down over the last few years. I used to go here every week, but now try to totally avoid it unless someone really insists on it. It is in an excellent location (on folly road about halfway between the peninsula and folly beach), so gets a fair amount of business, but is nothing to write home about. The staff and servers are pretty good, just seemed overworked. I feel bad for them at times. It looks like they need help from their managers/assistant managers, and just aren't getting it. It would be hard for me to recommend this place.

Kickin' Chicken is a good place to go if you're looking for a late night meal. Most nights, the kitchen is open till midnight so I occasionally find myself stopping by on the way home on weeknights. The staff have always been very friendly, and I think that's what keeps me coming back... and the KC reward card. To put it straight, the food is mediocre. Always has been, but at least it's consistent. I know exactly what to expect when I order. If I really need something to eat late at night but don't want to go far, I usually wind up at KC because it's close to home. To put it in two words, consistent and convenient.

Can't believe there arnt any reviews for this place yet! I'm an out of towner, my brother lives here. This was his and our first time here. Pleasently surprised! Kind of a sports bar type of place. I got the kicken sandwiche and it was great! The fries are nice and crispy! Very tasty place. From what I hear, it's fairly affordable compared to the yuppie type of place I hear Charleston is. If your in the area looking for chicken and beer, this is a worth while place to check out!

We were craving a burger and we swore while we are in South Carolina we would only eat local. No chains we have back home. We were very pleased with our choices. Boss Burger, crumbled blue instead of cheddar. The stand out item was the dill pickles. Yuuuuummmm. Everything was great. We got there early but by the time we were leaving, the place was packed. Good sign. Waitress was very nice and attentive.

Went here for wings with friends, obviously! Decent priced drinks, the More'mosa (mix of minosa and a shocktop) surprisingly delightful. However, don't bother with the Spicy Bloody Mary...quite watered down mix! We ordered the 25 wing, pick 5 different flavors deal. Was disappointed when they were brought to the table all mixed in one basket so you didn't know which flavor you were picking up and each wing had flavors of another from being mixed up. Also, we are all quite a big fan of spicy but the Scorchin' Buffalo (their hottest) was quite underwhelming on the tongue. Overall decent and a good meal. Maybe best to order separately though.

Great atmosphere especially since it's dimly lit which I realized I like a lot. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. I used to get the Kids Nuggets for $1.99 but the place is under new ownership and they will only offer it with an adult meal. So much for a great deal if your dining party of one. That said it's still a great deal and delicious.

I hated the experience the chicken seemed like it was frozen like they just ghrew it in the microwave! It was crappies

Great place, they have great chicken. Me and my wife went there for quick dinner and we would go again, even a good place to have a beer and watch some sports games.
(4)Annie B.
If you are willing to wait, about fifty percent of their food is amazing, the other half, not as good as expected. It takes a long time to get your food, and the service for refilling of drinks and getting the check takes a while, even on a deserted day.

I will not lie, I think the Kickin' Chicken is YUMMY. I have eaten here twice, takeout both times. We ordered a large amount of food both times and both times they got our order correct. I find that can be a rarity these days. The fried chicken is delicious- moist, crunchy, fattening. They have these yummy crinkle french fries that complement the chicken perfectly. I have also had a grilled chicken salad from here and it was great, fresh. The staff has always been friendly too. I have heard about people having food poisoning from other Kickin' Chicken locations, but I have never had a problem.

Great wings and chicken sandwiches. My girl loved the wrap and she is not usually a fan of wing places.
(4)Natalie R.
Can't beat Kicken Chicken's value for a quick meal or takeout. They also have a fun bar and good weekly specials, be sure to stop in or at the King Street location.
(5)Ann C.
The Kickin' Chicken is like a local version of Buffalo Wild Wings, sports bar vibe with a wide variety of greasy or fried menu items. Great for sporting events or when you've kicked your diet to the curb. The JI Kickin' Chicken seems to get a lot of take out orders. The separate take out entrance is small and can fill up pretty fast on the weekends.
(4)Jack F.
Can't say enough about the chicken sandwiches here. Both sandwiches me and my gf tried were amazing. Combine those and the beer selection, all at really good prices, with great service and this was a nice night out. About perfect for a sports bar/restaurant.
(5)David K.
Best chicken fingers in town. The staff is very friendly. The bar and dining area are a bit dark, but that's the only "not good" thing I can say.
(4)Steve P.
Better than bar food, food. Interesting wraps. Good fries. Low-frills, quick service. Good lunch stop. Separate to go side too. One of my local faves. Night time it has that "just a bar" vibe. Trivia seems to happen a lot. Local 20-somethings in small groups...
(4)Travis K.
Just ordered some appetizers for takeout. Had the sampler platter and stuffed pretzels. The pretzels were really really good.
(5)Jason B.
Always great food. Try the wings

You can't beat 'em for good chicken. There's a take-out window and an eat-in restaurant. I did the take-out.
